New Prices for Summer 2024

 My B & B Double Main room will now be £50 per person per night or £100 for 2 people sharing. As costs of everything ; Gas, Electric, Water , Food etc have all gone up sadly my prices need to reflect this. I think I am still one of the cheapest B & B's in the area so that says something !

Bed and Breakfast Room Available

Welcome to Shaptor Studio B & B this is my Home and where I work , I hold Art Workshops here and the B & B was created to provide a place for Workshop Participants to come and stay and enjoy being in my Home. However this has grown over time to having all sorts of people who come to stay, some to work in Bovey Tracey, others for Walking, visiting Families and Friends or looking for Houses to buy or rent. 

Currently I only have the One Double room in use for B & B in order for  there to be just One Bathroom solely for Visitors Use. 

I do like to have communication from potential Guests prior to a Booking to know why they are coming and to have full contact details just in case. Given current circumstances with Covid. 

 

Open for Business

In these difficult times with Covid - 19 taking its toll 
I am still open for business to people who contact me directly and who communicate about what we both need to think about 
Washing hands on arrival and obviously not coming if you are ill 
I would hope that consideration for others and self care can get us through this

Wray Valley Trail

The Wray Valley Trail the last section opened on 22 12 2019 a Dartmoor trail  up the Wray Valley from Bovey Tracey to Moretonhampstead

One Room Available June/July

Through June and July there will only be one B & B room available from 2 June to 28 July 
Sorry for any inconvenience but I have a couple of longer term bookings for these months for the smaller Double Bedroom

Now I am making new Sun Printed Lamp Shades they are all around my house helping make it look warm and inviting

It was great having some lovely stand holders staying B & B over the Festival

Grandchildren to stay

Easter Holidays wouldn't be complete without having the grandchildren to stay and a visit to the Farm to see the lambs.

Glass Workshop

I had the lovely Jenny Ayrton run the wire sculpting part of her glass casting workshop in my Studio this weekend, Giorgia one of the participants from further afield stayed over night before they finished their sculptures at Teign Valley Glass. Can't wait to see the finished work 

Hopefully she will run the course again later in the year !

Bluebells and Ferns in Chapel Woods

Granite Tramway Walk

Have I mentioned before that you can walk along the Granite Tramway that runs behind my house ? 
The Granite tram way starts up at Haytor , we ran a community walk a couple of weekends ago to do the walk from Haytor to Pottery Pond and did car shares 
If you are a keen walker I am happy to run you to Haytor so that you can walk back down without having to leave a car at the top, where it can get quite busy on a lovely day. 

It is also part of the longer Templar Way which goes from Haytor to Teignmouth which is only possible to walk on the bits along the estuary when the tide is out!

Drum Maker !

What I love about running a B and B, apart from, of course, meeting some wonderful, charming people, it is the amazing things that people come to the area to do that constantly astounds me. 
Jude came to make a drum with www.dartmoordrums.co.uk and arrived with her finished newly created large drum.
